I'm Todd Kuykendall, a California DMV-licensed driving instructor based right here in Chico. Through my work with one of the largest driving schools in the country, I've taught more than 2,500 behind-the-wheel lessons and became a Certified Instructor Trainer, training several new instructors. That experience taught me how to explain things clearly and create a calm, supportive environment where students can learn. Before teaching, I spent ten years in customer support and operations, helping people patiently through stressful problems. I also drove rideshare, which gave me plenty of real-world experience in every kind of traffic.

What I love most about this work is watching a student's confidence grow. Many new drivers arrive nervous, and seeing them settle in and start to enjoy being behind the wheel is deeply fulfilling. Families often tell me how much they appreciate my lessons, and many students and parents request me specifically after hearing praise from others. I credit that to clear communication, real patience, and a genuine passion for the work. At Chico Driving Academy, I want every student to leave each lesson feeling more capable and more comfortable than when they started.
